【辨析】across和through
across和through都可表示“从（一定范围的）一边到另一边”，其区别在于across表示某一范围的表面进行某一动作。through表示在某一范围的内部空间进行某一动作。
e.g.:
Be careful when you go across the street.
It took us two hours to walk through the forest.
7. She found herself alone in a long, low hall.
find oneself... “发觉自己”
他醒来发现自己在医院里。
He woke up and found himself in the hospital.
alone “独自的”，相当于“by oneself, on one's own”。
他自己完成了这项工作。
He finished the work alone.
