Last Sunday, Millie and Amy met a ghost in the park.

   be afraid to do sth.  害怕做某事

listen“听”，强调的是动作
hear“听见”，强调的是结果
sound“听起来”，是连系动词，后接形容词

6. be surprised ...
   be surprised at sb/sth  因某人或某事感到惊讶
   be surprised to do sth  做某事感到惊讶
看到你我感到很惊讶。

search意思是：搜寻，搜查，如果要指出想要搜寻的东西或人，要用介词for：
search sp for sb/sth
如：她翻遍了自己所有的包找身份证。
He searched all her bags for her ID card.
8. "Here it is." Andy said to himself.
say to oneself意思是“心里想，自言自语”，这里的say也可以换用其他与说有关的词，如speak、talk等，类似的短语还有think to oneself（暗自寻思、心里想）
如：My grandmother often says to herself.
9. Andy picked up the little cat.
pick up意思是“拾起、捡起”，动副词组，如果宾语是代词，必须放在两词之间，如：pick it/them up
